St. Louis, Tampa Bay Offer Matchup of Surprising Teams
The Tampa Bay Bucs and the St. Louis Rams were two of the worst teams in the NFL in 2009.
Led by rookie head coaches the teams combined to go 4-28 in 2009.
But when they meet today, (wholesale nfl jerseys)the two teams meet as two of the surprises of the 2010 season.
The Bucs enter the game 3-2, while the Rams enter the game with a 3-3 record.
The teams have taken similar approaches to rebuilding,(jets jersey) starting with second-year coaches Raheem Morris of Tampa Bay and Steve Spagnuolo of St. Louis.
"Two young, uprising teams that's starting to play better football going against each other this week," Morris said in describing the matchup. "You've got two young, energetic head coaches. You've got a guy I've got a lot of respect for???Last year, he was thrown into a situation where you've got to go build your team and that's what he's been able to do and that's what we're trying to do. We're going to go young. You're going to build with a quarterback - Sam Bradford, Josh Freeman. We're going to get some young players around them, get them to play with them. We're going to bring some of our old guys up - Ronde Barber, Steven Jackson. And you get those guys to come play with you and the next thing you know, you've got two teams that's right at the cusp. And every week, you're either hot or you're not.
"Now we're going to play each other," (new york jets jersey)he said. "And you have an exciting, young duel of talent about to play each other. I'm excited about that."
Spagnuolo explained even further about the transformation.
