Miami Dolphins' Sean Smith is `back in action'

For the past seven weeks,(cheap nfl jerseys ) when Dolphins cornerback Sean Smith

was spending his Sundays as a key reserve rather than as a starter, the swagger never really left him. He never lacked the

confidence or charisma that he possessed as a rising rookie.

His personality? That stayed the same. His job on the field? Well, that has been slightly subdued. On Sunday against the Bengals,

it could be about to change.

``No. 24 is back in action,'' said Smith,(Chiefs Jersey) when asked on the Armando and the Amigo radio show on WFTL 640 on Thursday morning whether he will start

against the Bengals.

That's not to say cornerback Jason Allen has been demoted -- that possibility exists but has not been confirmed by coach Tony

Sparano. If the Bengals open the game in a three-receiver set, Allen might still be included in the coverage.

Either way, Smith is on the verge of playing a more prominent role, which is worthy of recognition in itself.

``I can tell you, in my mind right now, Sean has done a really good job with the role that he has,'' Sparano said. ``He's played a

lot of plays in that role during the last three weeks.''

It has been a strange few months for Smith, who lost his starting job on the eve of the season after struggling during training

camp.

As a result, a solid rookie season caused high expectations that were put on hold for the first six games of this year.

For the second half of the game against the Steelers,(Kansas City Chiefs Jersey) Smith was back in his starting role opposite Vontae Davis, a move that served as the

first indication that change was on the horizon.

Now on the brink of playing even more, Smith is going to have a huge opportunity as he gets his feet wet in the first quarter

Sunday. Because of Terrell Owens' size and strength, Smith's big frame is going to be crucial to stopping him.
