Jags bench DE Harvey, to start Mincey
The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Wednesday(cheap nfl jerseys ) the decision to sit starting defensive end Derrick Harvey and start Jeremy Mincey.
A former first-round pick (eighth overall) out of Florida,Harvey has been disappointing in his third pro season, recording only six tackles and one sack in seven games for the 3-4 Jags,(Texans Jersey) who head to Dallas this coming Sunday.
The benching means the 23-year-old ends his consecutive-games played streak at 26, dating back to his rookie campaign of 2008.
The 6-foot-5, (Houston Texans Jersey)271-pounder held out prior to his first NFL season, and was limited to 19 tackles with 3 1/2 sacks and one interception in 16 games. Last season, Harvey posted 57 tackles and two sacks in 16 contests.
Mincey was the sixth-round pick by New England in 2006 and came to Jacksonville in 2007. He's compiled 19 tackles and three sacks in 16 games over three seasons with the Jaguars.
